Overview

Conker is proud to offer footwear that’s not only beautifully crafted, but made with comfort and sustainability in mind. From its friendly shoe fitters to its highly skilled cordwainers, Conker’s staff keep their eye on detail to ensure you get the best fit possible. British craftsmanship is at the heart of Conker; it uses high-quality leather uppers and a selection of soling options, including Zero Rise and hand-makes its shoes just behind its High Street shop using traditional methods.

Because of Conker’s made-to-order practice, your shoes can be as classic or creative as you can imagine with the company’s range of over 50 leathers.

Check out Conker’s website gallery or Instagram for inspiration. The company’s customer sizing notes are kept on file so it’s easy to reorder favourite styles as well as new ones.

Conker prides itself in making long-lasting, comfortable and sustainable footwear, which can be resoled and repaired when the time comes, significantly extending their life and reducing your footprint on the planet.

In addition to shoes, Conker also makes belts, bags and other leather accessories, which can also be made to order, and offer a range of ethically sourced Fair Trade clothing. Come into the Conker shop to see all the lovely things available, but if you’re unable to, there are many options online. Conker can even send leather samples to you so you can get a little bit of that Conker feel at home.

Sandridge Barton Wines

Sandridge Barton is the new home of Sharpham Wine and sits in a south-facing bowl on the edge of the River Dart, the perfect terroir for growing grapes and producing renowned English wines. They offer a range of experiences including guided and self-guided wine tours and tastings, and you can dine in their restaurant Circa or enjoy more casual bar snacks in the tasting barn, walk the woodland trail to visit their new vineyard or simply pop into the cellar door shop to purchase your favourite wines and other local produce. Their self-guided tastings are perfect for those wanting to select their own wines and taste casually with friends, with the help of the accompanying tasting notes leaflet, and you can even pair with some specially-selected bar snacks from Circa. The guided tastings offer more insight into the winemaking processes, where a guide will explain the techniques used from start to finish and take you on a tour around the winemaking facilities. There’s even an interactive nature trail through woodland to the new vineyard, which is a perfect activity for kids.
