Roly’s Fudge Pantry

Roly’s Fudge Pantry Totnes first opened it’s doors in 1995 and we’ve been making fresh fudge in Totnes ever since.  Following an old family recipe passed down by the founder’s grandmother, using our beautiful copper pans we are able to create our delicious crumbly fudge.  Make sure to come in for a taster of one of our many award-winning fudge flavours such as the traditional Vanilla Clotted Cream or one of our seasonal specials such as Raspberry Pavlova and Christmas Pudding!  We also stock our Roly’s Fudge Sauce and our Vegan/Lactose Free fudge, just ask for more information

Sandridge Barton Wines

Sandridge Barton is the new home of Sharpham Wine and sits in a south-facing bowl on the edge of the River Dart, the perfect terroir for growing grapes and producing renowned English wines. They offer a range of experiences including guided and self-guided wine tours and tastings, and you can dine in their restaurant Circa or enjoy more casual bar snacks in the tasting barn, walk the woodland trail to visit their new vineyard or simply pop into the cellar door shop to purchase your favourite wines and other local produce. Their self-guided tastings are perfect for those wanting to select their own wines and taste casually with friends, with the help of the accompanying tasting notes leaflet, and you can even pair with some specially-selected bar snacks from Circa. The guided tastings offer more insight into the winemaking processes, where a guide will explain the techniques used from start to finish and take you on a tour around the winemaking facilities. There’s even an interactive nature trail through woodland to the new vineyard, which is a perfect activity for kids.

The Cider Press Centre

The Cider Press Centre The shops at The Cider Press centre are a vibrant and eclectic range of shops offering perfect gifts with a focus on arts and crafts alongside a carefully curated selection of locally sourced food and drink. Occupying a picturesque corner of the Dartington estate, this mini-village remains a much-loved shopping destination after four decades of trading. You’ll also find family-friendly Bayards Kitchen with its dedicated children’s play area. The Devon Gin School makes Elmhirst Gin exclusively for Dartington and also offers bookable sessions to make your own bespoke bottle of gin which is great fun (See website for details) While you’re here, explore the rest of the Dartington Estate with its beautiful Grade II* listed gardens, footpaths through the historic Deer Park, look out for kingfishers along the River Dart, take the kids to the all-natural wild play area, or book yourself in for a real experience of transformative learning in ecology or the arts on our dynamic short courses and events programme. Totnes Market

The Market Square (also known as the Civic Square) has been home to the bustling weekly markets for hundreds of years, and today you can still stumble across this gem of a shopping experience every Friday and Saturday 9am-4pm. Meet the friendly traders, soak up the colourful sights and discover a huge array of interesting items from local honey to delicious cake; clothes, plants, antiques and lots of other wonderful gifts and treats.

Other Totnes Markets

One of the best places to try the delicious delights of what Totnes and the surrounding area has to offer is at the Totnes Sunday Food  & Craft Market. Held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, discover a range of quality produce and crafts. From April to October there's also an Indoor Artisan Market held in the Civic Hall (next to the Market Square) held on the second Tuesday of the Month 9.30am-3pm. And from May-September, the Totnes Elizabethan Society hold a weekly Charity Market in the Market Square on Tuesdays . Join in the fun to see the stallholders dress up in Tudor costume.

Steve Robinson Glass

Steve Robinson is an award-winning glass artist, specialising in kiln-forming to create his unique tactile and colourful work. Everything is made by hand at his studio in Totnes by the River Dart, where he produces stunning glass wall features, statement splashbacks, windows, bowls, sculpture as well as smaller ornamental pieces. Steve also runs regular workshops throughout the year which are suitable for all abilities and can be booked on his website. The studio is open to visitors. There is a small display area with finished work to view, and Steve also welcomes bespoke commissions. It is possible to call in on-spec but please check current opening times before making a special visit. An appointment is recommended if you would like to be sure of Steve’s availability to discuss a commission.
