Winter Solstice Bardic Storytelling Ceremony

Totnes Wheel of The Year Collective presents: Winter Solstice Bardic Storytelling Ceremony We'd love to welcome you to our Winter Solstice Bardic Storytelling Ceremony, featuring Madeleine Honor, Michelle Cadby, Adam Powell and other special guests! Come inside to the hearth fire and experience ancient storytelling, songs and ritual as our ancestors did at this time of year. This shortest night will be a moment for our inspiration and rebirth. You will be refreshed body, mind and soul to greet the return of the sun. Featuring skilled ceremonialists and bards from across the Devon tribe. This event is seated indoors in the cosy venue of 'The Hive', within the woodland glade of the Dartington Estate. Suitable for all ages Tickets are £8-£15 per person depending on your means. Support this volunteer run initiative in our debut event! Bring warm layers, a flask of tea and an offering for the fire… Madeleine Honor  Madeleine is a mother, singer, performer, sound & energy facilitator, kundalini yoga teacher, and creative practitioner. Madeleine has spent years as a performer and running drama and singing workshops with groups of women, children and refugees.  In her performances she often includes song, movement and mantra. Her deep connection to the natural world and shamanic practices are woven into a mesmerising landscape to create a sacred ceremonial experience. Adam Powell Adam is a multi instrumentalist storyteller with a passion for bringing the indigenous British Isles to life. Christmas Wine and Cheese Tasting with Sharpham Dairy

Join us for an evening showcase of our wines paired with cheeses from our old friends at Sharpham Dairy. Tom (Sandridge Barton) and Greg (head cheese at Sharpham Dairy) will guide you through a fun and informative tasting covering the history, production processes and the pairings themselves. You will taste five different wines paired with five different cheeses, and all will come with crackers and chutneys. Our shop will be open throughout the evening selling the wines and cheeses showcased in the evening for those wishing to get stocked up for Christmas! After arrival at 18:00, the tasting will kick off at 18:30 and run until around 20:30. The bar will be open until 22:00 for those wishing to carry on enjoying their evening with another bottle of wine! Tickets are £35pp, this includes your wine and cheese tasting. Santa’s Grotto at Dartington Estate

 Saturday 2nd – Sunday 3rd, Saturday 9th – Sunday 10th, Saturday 16th – Tuesday 19th December 2023 A little bird has told us that Santa himself is set to pay Dartington Estate a visit each weekend and during the school holidays this December! Father Christmas will be parking his sleigh and settling into a magical Grotto in Dartington’s historic Courtyard. He cannot wait to meet little ones and tell them all about life in the North Pole, how Rudolph and friends are, and about all the hard work his helper elves are doing to get ready for the “big night”. Santa will of course be giving out little gifts too! WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE EXPERIENCE?
  • 5 – 10 minutes exclusively with Santa in his pretty Grotto

Christmas Exhibition – Davidson Fine Art

Davidson Fine Art at 22 High Street, Totnes are delighted to announce their Christmas Show which opens at the gallery on Saturday November 25th at 10am.
