A little bird has told us that Santa himself is set to pay Dartington Estate a visit each weekend and during the school holidays this December!

Father Christmas will be parking his sleigh and settling into a magical Grotto in Dartington’s historic Courtyard. He cannot wait to meet little ones and tell them all about life in the North Pole, how Rudolph and friends are, and about all the hard work his helper elves are doing to get ready for the “big night”. Santa will of course be giving out little gifts too!

  • 5 – 10 minutes exclusively with Santa in his pretty Grotto
  • A small gift for each child

Musson Room, Dartington Trust, South Devon

When the sun disappears from the Tundra sky, the Arctic animals band together to find it. But are the strongest creatures best equipped for the task? Maybe someone with long ears that is faster, smarter, and more agile is required. With music, puppets and songs, come to hear the story of Leapa the fearless Arctic Hare as they save the realm from a villainous beast; bring the light back to the day and make the night sky glow! The Fabularium are coming to Dartington, with a story all the way from Far East Asia! Expect to see new animal headpieces, new puppets, new original music, and for the first time ever – illuminations! The Fabularium will have been creating work for 10 years in 2020, ranging from walkabout animations and processions to static cart shows in large festivals and indoor rural touring. Their unique storytelling and adaptions of old tales, blended with live original music, mask work and puppetry, date back to 2010 where they developed performances for the Coventry Mysteries Festival.
